Seniors Assistance Center Marks 50 Years of Service and Joins Forces with Aging Care Connections
We are proud to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Seniors Assistance Center (SAC), now a program of Aging Care Connections. On June 2, 2026, we will mark this important milestone with an Open House from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, honoring five decades of dedicated service to older adults and families in Norridge, Harwood Heights, and the surrounding communities.
For 50 years, SAC has been a cornerstone of support, offering compassionate assistance, programs, and a strong sense of community for older adults. We honor the legacy built by its devoted volunteers, staff, and supporters, including Caryn Skiba, named Volunteer of the Year, and Arleen Newhouse, recognized for 50 years of dedicated service.
This anniversary represents a meaningful new chapter. As SAC becomes part of Aging Care Connections, the organization’s commitment to the community continues with even greater strength. Those who have long relied on SAC will now have access to a wider array of programs, resources, and services through ACC, expanding the support available while preserving the personal, community-focused care that has always defined SAC.
The Power of Collaboration
In today’s world, serving older adults effectively requires partnership. By coming together, Aging Care Connections and the Seniors Assistance Center are better positioned to meet growing needs with enhanced capacity, shared expertise, and a unified mission. This integration allows us to provide more comprehensive care, helping more individuals age with dignity, independence, and connection.
We are grateful for everyone who has supported SAC over the years and excited about the opportunities this next phase brings for the entire community.
Thank you to all who have helped make these 50 years possible. Here’s to continuing this important work, stronger together, because, after all, aging well matters.
