Comfort Keepers was founded in 1998 by Kris Butler, a nurse who recognized that her patients needed more than just medical support—they needed companionship and help with everyday tasks to stay safe and comfortable at home. Her vision, supported by her family, grew into a global network of over 700 locations in 12 countries, all rooted in compassion and care.
My journey with Comfort Keepers began in 2002, but my commitment to caring for others started much earlier. Growing up, I worked alongside my father at Chicago’s beloved Bruce and Ken’s Pharmacy—stocking shelves, delivering prescriptions, and eventually becoming a Pharmacy Technician. In 2002, my father, siblings, and I brought that same spirit of service to Comfort Keepers. Today, I lead a team of more than 150 dedicated caregivers—alongside my children—serving families across Chicagoland with the same compassion and community focus that began behind my father’s pharmacy counter.
